happy 2026 for sure, CONGRATS BIG TIME!

Depends on circumstances at the time of course, but not planning on age 67 to fully retire but early at age 62 and maybe pick up a supplement part time job at age 62, or even contemplating doing that VERY soon not waiting 6 more LONG years, so not worth it to me to continue the daily grind.  Money is not everything to me since never was super rich to begin with, can live within my means which is not much.

So sick of past 30+ years working for every penny I earned and then some to make the BIG SHOTS above me look good making so not deserved triple my salary or even more.  The current SR VP above us all hired over 2 years ago now whom made for sanity purposes my exboss quit cold turkey no job lined up has not been into work over 2 weeks now on caribbean cruise all the while us grunts actually do the daily work.  All she EVER does is create more work for us all and attend all day meetings to make herself look 'important' to the few higher ups above her to meet budget goals by cutting ALL overtime from us all.  I looked last week and my yearly salary has actually decreased in 2025 by a few grand vs. even 3 years ago even at say 3% raises yearly all because NO OVERTIME.  I accidentally saw another SR VP's hiring outlay from HR to be hired and he was going to get 8% quarterly bonuses of his salary and 15% year end bonus of his salary being well over 100K if he met budget goals.  His bonuses alone are OVER my yearly salary, so WRONG!  Am sure my SR VP boss gets very similar to meet budget goals thus reason why more work and NO overtime.  Me and my coworker talked about just both of us leaving at the same time leaving our dept. pretty much high and dry and 'essential' 'required' to be there daily at least 1 of 2 of us.  Something similar happened at my previous job the boss made my slower but accurate co-worker quit cold turkey NO job lined up could not take boss any longer.  She tried that BS on me 5 months later, coworkers job NOT even posted needing 2 full time employees required.  I called her a B___tch to her face and soon after left as well boss having NO ONE left.  Boss did not last long much after I left either she got fired herself or realized her dept. was going to fail ASAP without both of us required/essential and found another job soon after.  HR did try to bring in a temp after my coworker quit a month or two later and she lasted 4 hours and quit herself said the job is not for me walked out 1st day.  She realized really need 3 full time people not just 1 or 2, story of my life.

I never met anyone saying they regretted EARLY retirement at age 62, even younger.  Most I know tad older than me are retiring or leaving work full time early anywhere from age 53 to age 61 recently.
