David Allan Coe has Died

Friends, you will read that a Country Music Outlaw has passed away.  David Allan Coe was 86.  A big personality, he was either admired or disregarded.  Extremely talented, his later works were enjoyed by his fans but didn't get a lot of airplay.

One hell of a performer I remember his concerts at the legendary honky tonk Gilleys in Pasadena Texas.  He was always great to watch a unique person rest in peace David you will be missed by this fan.

Yes.  The WSM Grand Old Opry was a stepping stone into Country Music.  That radio station had oversized influence.  Getting on the show sold records.  The Opry was G-rated family entertainment.  Real Country Music is not always rated G.

Listening to him now. Saw him locally at a small biker gathering about 12 yrs ago. He played for 3 hours straight. It was a fun night.
