Got the CC installed, airbox back in with the mod that makes it easier to R&R, tank back in place...all the aggravting stuff. Turned the key on, everything lit up except for the gas gauge on my I/S panel. Guess what...I forgot to hook up the sending unit. Have never done that but there's a first time for everything. So, the reason for the post...has anybody ever done that and figured out how to hook it up without pulling the tank?

I'm thinking I'll let the project set until after IZ, give me a chance to cool a bit.  >:(

Serk

I guess you could splice in a new cable with a connector and route it onto the frame under the tank so it can be plugged/unplugged quick and easy like?

Does remind me when I first got my Valk I thought I'd be a billy bad ass and took the tank off (For the first time!) and put blue neon lights under the tank....

Looked AWESOME! Went to a bike night just a few miles from the house. Made it almost there and my brand new Honda broke down in front of about a hundred Harleys...

Turns out if you forget to hook the vacuum hose back up the bike will run for 2-3 miles and then no more...

Never ask a geek 'Why?',just nod your head and slowly back away...

after unbolting the tank and OEM fuel selector switch, usually the tank can be lifted up and tilted from the left side enough to prop it up from the frame to get your hand in there. I wear a large size riding glove.  I've been able to do this on the right side also enough to replace the air filter. the length of the fuel line and where its attached to the carb frame will be the limiting factor. good luck.

If I have the time tomorrow I might give that a try. So aggravating, I wish they would have designed the bike with a fuel pump like the old Wings. Worked great on them, why not the Valk. Sure would have made messing with the tank a lot easier.

No fuel pump is one of the reasons I bought my Tourer.
