I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to afford a new one given today's economy and my poor planning. It's kind of bare bones and not a hybrid this time .  It's small but something I think she will be able to handle given the compact size, parking shouldn't be a problem and I'm already tight on space. I'm looking forward to surprising her later today! Did I do good???

I got a gas powered trimmer, blower, pole saw and tiller. Just swap out attachments. Wife does gardening in raised garden beds at a community garden. Loves the tiller for her raised beds. Just the Troy-Bult variety not a Honda.

That was what she had in mind when she told me she wanted a small tiller she could handle. Nothing wrong with Troy-Bult but I came across this one at Lowe's and the first thing that drew me in was the Honda nameplate. Immediately realized it was a 4 stroke which I felt would be better for Judy. It is even an OHC, which I figured would help it imitate a 2 strokes rpm capabilities. It's super light, I can pick it up and carry it as easily as my Echo weedeater. It starts easier than any 2 stroke I've ever had and after letting it cool down for an hour or two, I had Judy come out and start it. Started on the first pull.

Best part of the whole deal is I don't have to listen to the constant, "I need a small tiller" all through the plant growing season anymore!

Several years back I ripped out all the bushes in front of the house looking to do a fresh planting. There were a bunch of old roots I got frustrated with digging out by hand as I raked through the old soil and residual mulch so I decided to get a rent a tiller. When the guy brought it out I asked really, do you think that will work and he laughed and said that's  what evey one asks. That little bugger ripped through everything in its path and could get deep once it got going. A couple larger roots did stop it in its tracks but remove the root and keep going.
