Start button on switch

Have "repaired" the copper connectors on the slide of the start button a couple of times, works till it doesn't.  Friday I was riding in mid 90's weather and took a break in some shade of a small parking lot....kinda middle of nowhere.  Been fine, but nothing when I tried to start.  Lights came on, but no joy.  Did some quick checks, decided it was probably the switch.  Took it apart and was able to get it to work again.  Since getting home, I've done further "adjustments" to keep it going but figure it's time to replace.

So, anyone got a starter switch?

Thanks

Trapper, a new OEM switch is likely not available.  If you can find an owner selling a low-miles OEM switch, get it.  Unfortunately, the quality of available used parts has gone down, particularly after Pinwall closed.  A repro switch from eBay would not be our ideal choice but might be the best available.

Did you assure the brass contact was able to bounce up and down on the spring? That's what a lot of guys overlook. Clean is good but if there's no contact that's not good

I have what I suspect (but haven't yet confirmed) is the opposite problem with my starter switch:  The bike starts fine, but no headlight.  Please share with us your maintenance experience.
