Japan was never a British colony. Why do the Japanese drive on the left side of the road like the British?

A. The Samurai warrior would typically walk or ride on the left side of the road so he had more room to draw his weapon with his right hand.

B. British engineers helped design the first railway system in Japan in 1872.

C. The Japanese did not care whether or not France's Napoleon Bonaparte was left-handed.

D. All the above

I'm thinking "A"

I suspect "B" as doubtful but "C" sounds correct.

Grok analysis says it's "D".
(And my verifying Grok's analysis concurs.)

Ok, the British apparently were "Helpful" according to what Wikipedia states, but it seems the Russians were also.

Not sure how #3 fits in here seeing Napoleon died in 1820 something and Japan first track was laid in 1872 or so.

Maybe just Napoleon influence?

History is awesome.
