Fork springs?

I am reworking the forks on my 1998 Valkyrie Tourer. I disassembled the left leg, and measured the fork spring. It is 12.25" long. The Honda manual says it should be 13.3" long. Also, my spring is uniformly and loosely wound, the one in the manual is half loose and half tightly wound. Do I have a Progressive brand spring? Your insight will be appreciated. Thanks

OEM and Progressives are two stage. As you said, they have both loose and tightly wound sections. I imported Hyper Pro springs from Europe on the advise of Stu Oltman, a master tech and writer for many MC magazines. They are progressively wound evenly as you scan from one end to the other. Measure the spacing at one end and again at the other end. If they are different, you might have Hyper Pros.
