My friend has 2002 Gold Wing and would like to get  it  painted Black cherry over the Illusion blue. We were wondering how much paint should he buy.  I know some of you guys have wings so i figured it was worth a shot.  Thanks Mike

If done by a true professional and each coat goes uninterrupted (setup/cleanup wastes paint) on all parts at once a Quart just might be enough. But I would also furnish an additional pint for peace of mind for 2 coats of color. 3 coats I would get 2 Quarts. Especially if it would take awhile to get more if needed. If it's a 2-part color less is generally for the finish color.

I can tell you with absolute certainty how many rattle cans it would take from ColoRite - WAY TOO many!

I went that route with my fairing & pods. Results were excellent, but what a ton of work it is.

The right side pod actually got wet sanded and buffed again 'cause I got tired or lazy the first time.

Everytime I see this bike I'm amazed you did that with a rattle can...I've told you before but worth saying again... Great job  :cooldude:

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

Yea. I have an illusion blue wing ... and I too need a new color.  At night its a beautiful blue.  In bright sunlight though... sometimes its a Barnie Purple though.  Ive had it for a few years, but my hate of it has grown exponentially.  Too much of a test for my manhood perhaps LOL.  BTW, my wife picked the color  :-\.

Thanks guys.  My friend really dislikes the color and wants a change  so we ripped it apart yesterday. Man there is a lot of plastic on that thing that needs paint.  Thanks again.  I will try and post pic's when done.

ask your paint supplyer on how much paint, you want to remember it does have a shelf life and will go bad
