Wondering what experience/input anyone might have on electronic/vacuum cruise controls for a Valk.  (1998 Standard to be specific).

My research has only yielded two choices.  Either an Audiovox CCS-100 Approx $200 (made for auto and must be converted) or an Austrailian company called MC Cruise that makes a high end item specifically for a Valk, and costs a whopping $900.00.

Any suggestions, ideas, discussion etc would be appreciated.  Thanks.

I've had great luck with the audiovox, but to each his own. I've installed four units on both tourers and Interstates. It is time consuming but not hard, takes me longer to remove and install tank and airbox than the rest of the job.

We did Vista Cruise Throttle locks and have really good luck with them.

Thanks for the responses, please keep em coming.  I am however looking for the ELECTRONIC speed control type cruise, not just a throttle lock.

Seems like I saw a thread on here somewhere that had DETAILED, STEP BY STEP instructions COMPLETE WITH PICTURES for the audiovox install on a valk.  Either that, or the thread had a link to a website with that info.

Sorry, I'm not any good at searches to find that info on here for you.    I priinted it off to try following something similar on my Rune, but alas, there's no room on a Rune to do the install.

I have the MCcruise and am very happy. Instructions are great. The $920 on the website is in Australian dollars so it is a little less in US currency.

I purchased mine from another VRCC member for less than $300, I think.

If you want an Audiovox CCS-100 you better get one fast. They are about gone and not made any more.

I have one on my ST1300 and love it for interstate riding. They can still be found if you look hard enough. Not to bad of an install.

I have one of the 1st Australia ones.  Bought it in Dec 97, installed it that winter, and have had no problems with it.    Currently has over 230,000 miles on it.    It still holds + or - 1 mph on hills and the flat.    Head winds give it a small problem, but it takes care of it & does the job at hand..
