Now the trees are all kept equal, by hatchet, axe, and saw...

Oddly enough, in 1978 when I first heard this song, I was 18 yrs old, married for a year, supporting a wife and a child, and not taking one dime of government support. I knew I was an oak even then. And to this day... It remains the same. I've been an oak my entire adult life, plus a few years.
