I have a 99 Interstate and am having problems with the switches for the volume and channel selectors working only part time. When I mess with them, they will work sometimes. Is there any way to clean/lube them? I have looked in the tech archives, and couldn't find any helpful links.
Thanks,
Paul

You can take the pod apart and clean them just like the starter switch.

I had same problem with my 2000 I/S last year.  I used contact cleaner ("big bath" name brand) left the assembly intact and used the small tube that came with the spray can and hosed the heck out of all the orifices and worked the switches vigorously and did this over and over till the can was empty, this gave me excellent results.  Be sure to have something under the switch housing to catch the liberal amounts of contact cleaner dripping down.

Just did mine last week.  Same process as mentioned but I didn't use the whole can...just as much as I needed.  I put a large towel over the tank  (folded in half) to protect it from the spray.  Switches work like new.

Thanks for the responces. I thought about using the cotact cleaner, but didn't know if it woud hurt anything inside the switch housing.
Thaks again,
Paul
