Rear Tire Change

I'm having a new Avon tire put on my Valk tomorrow by a local shop and would like to know what do I need them to do while the rear hub is off and what do I tell them to look for? Bike has 28000 on it so any advice from you guys would be helpful.

Replace 3 orings and thrust, if needed. Lube everything including drive shaft ends.

Hopefully, they will do a good job of balancing...which is, find the heavy spot of the rim and then the heavy spot of the tire and put the tire's heavy spot 180 out..that way it uses less weight.
If this is the first tire change you've been involved in, take it easy the first 50 miles or so until the new coating gets scrubbed off--easy on the cornering.

I believe the o-rings are critical; I always replace them unless I find they are perfect (which isn't as often as one would hope).  Use care too, they are easily damaged during reassembly. Particularly the 'inner' ones (you need not ask).  :tickedoff:  Also, be sure to lube the splines "reeel good".  I've been using 60% Moly Paste (Honda's) for years (I'm on my 6th change now) with excellent results. However, others here have differing opinions.  I only recommend you research the topic and form your own opinion.

A good shop will know to use Bel Rays grease or an equivalent(not Honda's moly paste). Tell them to loosen the 4 bolts that attach the drive unit to the swingarm and retighten after torquing the axle nut. I'm assuming they are doing all the work. They'll charge more for a drive unit removal and shaft greasing.
