What do you all use for your mp3/ipod's? I have a ilo mp3 that I bought in 05/06 and has been good. Latley when its cool out, below 50, it plays a song and then shuts down and restarts. Fine at 80deg. I like it cause it uses a AAA battery. Are there any out there like this? What do you all use?  I might just get another like it off of ebay, cheap, if I cant find another with a AAA battery. Really dont want to hard wire it on the bike.

I use an iPod mini that I bought about the same time you did. I have had problems with it over heating and shutting down in HOT weather. I bought a handle bar mounte and it hasn't shut down since, it must be getting enough air circulation around it now to keep it cool. The clicker wheel is really easy to opperate while going down the road.

I had a Sansa fuse for about 3 years. It gave up last week. It had a 24hr battery life and it was good for all day riding. I changes to a i-pod nano 5th gen and like it. They say 48hr battery life but i have not tried it for that long yet.

This would do 16 hrs on a AAA. Its nice to use on the bike on trips. Pop out the battery and throw it away. Most of the time its hard to find electricity or a pc to charge it.

I fly R/C planes  and well the batterys I use are LiPo same as the one in your phone sort of.

Anyway the reason I mention it is I have a walkman radio that I had rigged up with a plug in it solder to where the battery went to the board and I could use a rechargeable battery. You can get them in many sizes and Mah or milliamp Hours.

The battery I had on my device would last for weeks LOL. I have 3 packs for it and charge them all before a trip and it is as easy as unplugging one and plugging the next one in..

Batterys do not do well in the cold even LiPos do not have much punch when below 40 degrees or so it is not that the battery is not charged they do not like cold!!
