anyone use the royal purple coolant?  what is the stuff (or the stuff in coolant) I SHOULD avoid?

roboto65

Well Royal Purple does not make a coolant perse but they do make a additive which I have running in my bike it reduces the surface tension of the water allowing it to do a better job of cooling.  I have not had any problems with it but I am a Royal Purple addict  :2funny:

I think you don't want "silicates" in your coolant... look for "silicate free" on your coolant's label...

roboto65.  are you saying that you add the RP to your prestone coolant?  or just water?

There is a FAQ on the Purple Ice and I just got off the phone with a friend of mine at the Royal Purple plant and he says that the Ice is silicate free.

As to your question Yes add in with your coolant per there directions.
