Went to a fundraiser this past Sunday for a mother that got stabbed in the Stephenville  city park a few weeks back for no reason in the back. She is recovering and paralyzed from the waist down. The run started at the local VFW chapter. About 80 bike went on the run and what seemed like a good turn out. I don't know how much money they raised. I was the only one on a Valkyrie, 2 wings, 2 street bikes and the rest V-twins. We went about 60 some miles for the ride and I rode 98 miles round trip at an average of 39.23MPG. My average for the actual run must have been 45 or so. I didn't think it was possible it took 2.5 gallon to fill up. ~TJ

Super Santa

Been keeping records on my 2000 Interstate for almost 3 years now.

Purchased: 7-1-2007
Mileage:     25450

Last fueled:  4-12-2010
Mileage:     79724

That is over 54,000 miles and my average mpg for the ENTIRE time is:  35.67431

I have gotten as low as 23 (the first day I had it).  And last year on my trip to Cheaha I had one tank that was 47.00493; and in 2008, riding with a group, downhill in the Rockies, I actually got 70.26087.

That was 202 miles and it only took 2.875 gallons.  I really thought my gas guage was going bad.  Usually going over 200 miles on a tank, not unusual for me, I am looking for gas.

Red Diamond

Beaumont to Grand Junction, Colorado and back. Thru and over million dollar hwy and other mountains, 39-40MPG, never less. Of course, I don't burn the hwy either.

If you are riding  and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

Serk

Best was high 30's, low 40's, when I was on one of the few group rides I've been on, and kept dosing off we were going so slow...

Worst was 16 MPG...

...triple digits, into a strong headwind in West Texas...

And I tell ya'... When you hit reserve around 65 miles in the middle of nothing West Texas... THAT will slow ya' down better than any traffic patrol can!
Never ask a geek 'Why?',just nod your head and slowly back away...

When riding (2-up) last week, cruising the back roads, I stopped
to fill up in Boone, NC. 84.2 miles on the tripmeter and I could NOT
get 2 gallons in!! 1.89 gals!! Surprised me, too. :cooldude:

Winders calculator, I just copied and pasted the results.

Yep!  At the price of gas these days losing 45 miles per tank was unacceptable.  I'm still a bit surprised that the air tube not being tightly fitted would cause such a dramatic decrease in mileage without a performance loss.

Speedo- it is too easy to reset the trip meter and go...

I sure wish I could join everyone but life got in the way.
