Hello all.  I finally got a garage and am working at restoring my 97' valk tourer.  It has been ridden rough and left outside for a couple years.  One of the big problems is that my right standard hard bag has taken the brunt of it.  The fiberglass has started to desinagrate.  I am thinking about repainting.  I have the two tone green and black.  Is there any hope of getting it painted and actually matching the rest of the bike?  I love my color and do not really want to change.  DO i have to get the whole thing repainted so the colors match?  How much should a quality job cost?
Thanks

I'm sure it depends in part on where you are.

My painter would do an excellent job for a reasonable price either matching or repainting entirely.

Nice bike willow - you have my paint scheme - I don't have matching trunks.

Saddlebag are plastic not fiberglass....

Good paint jobs are not cheap...
Cheap paint jobs are not good...

I've had several bikes and cars painted over the years...For a Tourer two tone  with you taking the tins in reasonable would be $1,000.00 to 1,200.00 If they take it apart and reinstall after paint reasonable would be $1,400.00 to $1,600 ....I'm no expert these numbers are IMO.

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

Yeah, that was sort of the point.  Honda didn't make bags in that paint scheme.  TC had to color match Honda and did a fine job.  I also used TC for a Green and Beige Interstate which he matched perfectly.

You know, Bon, that does look just like me near the upper left, doesn't it?  I should have him put that on Lori's tank.   :D

Willow put me onto TC Concepts for painting.  I had him paint an IS tank, saddlebags, and trunk to match my 97 Purple/white std.  Including the pinstriping.

Very nice job.

Thank you again Willow!

and roughly what did that end up costing you?  I just figured no one would be able to make it match without a full paint job.  I can pull the saddlebag and mail it.  It is all that need to be painted and that woudl not be much work on both ends.  BTW how long have we had these snazzy forums?  Last time i was on here was the old one.

I paid $900 for the above work on the tank, bags, and trunk.  Gave him a $50 tip to boot.

He matched the factory pinstriping between the colors, and also pinstriped to match the pinstriping the PO had put on.  Nice.

I thought it was very reasonable.

I wouldn't want to say because my situation may have been different than yours, but ask him for a quote.  I'm sure you'll find him very reasonable.

Just a little over a year now.   Thank Scott.  I certainly have.
