LASERPAT,

I can't tell you about a "preferred" hitch, but I can tell you that last week Darryl from XF-6 stopped by and showed me his newly designed hitch made specifically for the Valkyrie.

IT IS A WORK OF ART!

He held it up to my bike and it looks like a factory accessory, only better. It is made out of stainless steel, and it is TIG welded by someone that really knows how to weld. It is really a hitch that I would be proud to have on my bike.

I don't know what he wants for it, I know it is not on his web site yet, but knowing Darryl, I would bet it will be cheaper than most of the mild steel painted ones that you can find. The picture I attached is not really clear, but you should get an idea how it will look.

Hitch Doc has a very nice Chrome one.   I've had mine since 98....

This is the best picture I can find right now.   Been moving my pictures from one site to another and nothing is organized yet.

It is that flat 3" wide piece going up the contour of the fender.   Has a lip and a ball, non removeable and no click clack like a receiver one with the trailer on.   I choose permanent, as I've seen receiver hitches toss a bike around a little bit.

Thanks, I'm still suffering sticker shock. At $430 + shipping with hitch doc, It's more than I paid for the trailer.

You can usually find a big bike parts for $150 or less.

People are more passionately opposed to wearing fur than leather because it's safer to harass rich women than bikers.

Does Darrell's work with the saddlebag guards?  The crosspiece fit OK, or is there an issue?
+1 on his stuff.  I have his 6 deg raked trees on my sidecar rig, and he custom made me some brackets for passenger footpegs.  He is top shelf!

I have a Markland. Receiver style. Its nice cause you dont have the unneeded ball sticking out there. I also use a little cargo rack that slides in there.

Now you're in the world of the wolves...
