EXACTLY!!! My in-laws in Reynosa have told us emphatically, "DO NOT COME VISIT US RIGHT NOW! But, if you must, park on the U.S. side and call us to pick you up at the border. Do not drive any fairly new vehicle across the border or you run a very good chance of getting kidnapped or just killed. Better that we come visit you."
