What kind of Oil Do U guys Use,Is there a Differance

Hay Guys I did just change oil on my i/s I used Honda GN4 20 /50 this time with a half gt. of Lucas Oil Additive <I like Lucas Products alot,any way  do any of u guys use regular oil ie.Penzoil   what ever I use Castrerol in all my other  toys,, what opinion do u gentelmen have on oil product selection,as always thanks fer ur input..

search is your friend, u will find many opinions otherwise known as the oil wars.

I presently use amsoil 10w30/30HD diesel oil.

I would stop using lucas, their products tend to foam and air doesn't lubricate, there are various oil studies out there that show this, including the below site,

Mobil motorcycle oil (v-twin) 20/50 with a Purolator Pure One filter (PL14610).  It's longer and alows for 4 full quarts.  If you use an oil filter cover you might want the regular length filter....PL14612)

Amsoil 10w/40 motorcycle oil in all my bikes with absolutely no complaints. Walmart filters.

I have Amsoil 10w40 motorcycle oil right now but will probablly try Shell Rotella 6T next time.  I use a Honda car filter.  Does that count as part dark side?

I use Rotella T in the blue jug.  I was just told that I should use motocycle oil due to the way the gears in the transmission may gum up if using automotive type oil. The motocycle  oil is made not to do that. Has anyone else heard that?

since you like lucas, why not use the lucas motorcyle oil
i use the 20w50 fully synthetic(red cap) avalible at orielly,s or advance auto  about 8.75 a quart and no need to add lucas additive 
there is also a semi-synthetic (blue cap) i forgot the weight  have used it also but perfer the other

Motorcycle transmissions are rough on oil. The gears will chop the long strand molecules into little bits, which destroys viscosity. Synthetic oils resist the tendancy to lose viscosity. The primary diference between car and motorcycle synthetics is the additive package. Too much moly can mess up a wet clutch, though most oils, including some motorcycle oild have some moly content. This oil change I tried Delo 15W-40, same as my Diesel. Are there any issues with this that y'all see? It's been running great but I haven't pushed the clutch too hard.

great oil, however a few yrs ago the formulation was changed and now it contains almost 300 ppm of moly. www.bobistheoilguy.com  oil analysis sections.  Per a SAE report I have posted before problems start showing up with the starter clutch first at 500ppm with problems with the main clutch also at 750ppm.  search my handle the SAE # and a google search will bring up many sites discussing this.
