last time i was in the U.P. there had been a lot of fires!  that was about ten years ago.  that's sad.

....Roscommon is about 13 miles south of us....Kalkaska is 25 miles west ....ya..I guess it has been rather dry round these parts....gets dry fast here...soil is so poor....no "burn permits" being issued...fire alert is one level below the highest....but were still allowed fire pits in the back yard....but if you start a fire you pay the tab for the Fire Company and who ever else runs up a bill....
