Took a ride last nite-first in 3 weeks-rode about 5 miles started missing -no power-pull over turn off-let sit-startup runs good-take off-1.5 miles same crap-oh no dyna 3000 is dead-limp home swap out dyna with stock-takes about 10 minutes-startup runs great-kick dirt & cuss dyna-turn off go to bed-jump on tonite startup take off-3 miles same thing-sit on side of rode pissed-brain storm-CHECK VENT TUBE STUPID-MR. Dirt Dobber had done his thing-sorry about what I said about you last nite Mr.Dynatech

A dobber in your vent tube,, hummm.. I thought the vacuum break[ T]  in the line would have prevented something like that.. Anyway, good tip, and glad its back running..

when I put the engine back in last year(another story) in my infinite wisdom I decided that the tee wasn't needed. DUH!!! guess what gets put back on today.

The TEE is not there for wasp prevention, it is there to prevent a vaccum from forming when water spatter from the road enters the bottom of the drain.

Yep, but, thats why that little T shaped critter is called a vacuum break.. Speaking of little critters, I guess we'll now have to make all these little red covers with warning flags to stick on anything that could have something crawl up inside them, kinda like we do for aircraft..

I had a Dyna 3000 go tits up on mne once.  I carry a spare now.  Plus... they replaced it inder warranty, and probably should NOT have since I bought it used.  AND they upgraded me to the newer version.

I keep mine in a ziplock now.

because I know there are no more Dynas being made and no repairs being done. I sure like the sound of that engine at about 8500 rpm. I know it's not really making power up there but it sure sounds good!!!!!!
