What type of grease to use on control levers?
Fred.
Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

I use red synthetic marine grease and I still get an occasional creaking and not smooth application on very humid days that drives me nuts. Brake fluid was changed this spring, so that isn't it.

Cliff

Service manual calls for silicone grease.

I'll give that a whirl on the plunger contact point. I'm pretty sure the pivot points don't care as long as they're greased with sumpin.

I use Guard dog Moly grease, so far smooth and no creaking/squeaking.

Thanks. I installed the Kury adjustable GL1800 levers and still have to push the brake forward with a finger to get the brake lights to cancell.

I have the same levers and had to build up the area of the lever that contacts the microswitch with about 6 layers of aluminum tape.

Is it possible the spring inside the master cylinder  needs to be replaced?
