Tranny covers gear whine update:

Well after a lot D(*# around, I went with spraying undercoating on the covers and have some inprovement of tranny whine. I think I can / will live with it. I had sent Kuryakyn a email stating what I was hearing from thier covers asking for advice. They did respond saying," WE have NEVER had a complaint like you stated." That makes me feel real good that I am the only S.O.B. in the World has super hearing and can hear the "extra sounds" from the Valkyrie transmisson when installing Kuryakyn Tranny Covers. 
Damning aside,, I think most of sound magnifing comes from the top gap of the covers. Have not come with anything to plug as of now and wondering about heat build up. Anyone out there have a suggestion on a fix, other than take a long walk on a short pier.

Wish my hearning was that good!  Just kidding.  Have you tried the sound proofing material that you can buy at auto stores.  Its a sticky backed product that is used inside of door panels etc.  I have heard that works well.  I have two valks and I did hear that type of noise on one of them but I determined that the right side lower rear bolt was not quite tight enough and the vibrations harmonized with the motor.  Just a thought.  good luck.

+ one on the dayanamat it worked great. I also found the center bolt spacer came loose took her for a ride what a diff.

I gave up and took mine off.  What a difference that made.  Plus the chrome was starting to bubble and they would not back it.

Ask Kuryakyn to provide reps who have been with them for more than a week as they have had complaints on the noise since they first started offerring them  Dynamat is the way to go, pricy but it is a small area

I not only appllied a triple coat of "undercoating" to the inside of each cover and I used rubber gaskets on both sides of each retaining bolt.  It still ain't quite, but a tranny cover can not quite the Valk's transmission howl. The tranny quites itself once your in 5th and over 2500 RPMs.  Oh yea, my covers also started peeling after about 4 or 5 years.  It costs as much or more to rechrome, so I bought another set.
