There are not a lot of ways that gas can get into the crankcase.

The conditions for gas to get into the crankcase have to be aligned and synchronous.

Hydrolock come to mind.

How can you be sure that gas got into the crankcase.  Smell?

Not hardly, unless there was a lot of gas.

Check the petcock and the floats plus the line that goes to the intake from the petcock. If you do have gas in the crankcase by all means dont turn the bike over till you make sure you have no gas in the cylinders. disaster will strike in the form of hydroloc and Its costs money to fix.  Cry
