Audiovox CC won't engage

I've read all the posts on the board re: acc and checked all my connections. I've got lights on the control module, but the actuator will not engage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, does anyone now what that 3 switch deal that sits on top of the brake reservoir is called and where to get it?

When I installed a back off brake module on my Interstate, the CC failed to actuate afterwards.  I installed a relay as mentioned and it works again now.

Thnx for link. I read thru it. But keep in mind, this had been working for over 5yrs. and suddenly stopped. That's why I checked all the connections, thinking maybe something came loose, but everything is aok.

I'm sure you've already checked, but make sure your brake light is not stuck on, either the brake pedal or the handle bar switch. sounds silly, but I've seen it before. double check the throttle pull chain, had one break before.

Actually I did check that and found another problem which has since been corrected. When checking the brake light, the hand brake worked, but the foot brake did not. I soon discovered that the spring connected to the foot brake switch had come off. As soon as I fixed that, both hand and foot brakes worked perdectly,
The cable is working fine also. i know this cuz, for the first few yrs., the cable would slip in the bracket I made which made the mph go up and down. So last time I fixed this, I made it extra tight which makes my idle run too high. It's come down some since, but I still have to keep my hand on the throttle to keep it low.

I had a wire break right at the pin connection on the control module. The four wire connection between the harness and the module. I resolder the wire back to the pin and all is good.

Check for battery on the brake light wire, would be all I can think of at this point.

Pop off the cover for the push buttons and clean the contacts with an pencil eraser.  That will fix it.  No kidding!

OK. Just cleaned the contacts with a pencil erasure, but can't test yet due to thunderstorms. Will post back.

Another cause for not engaging is loss of vacuum.  These check valves occasionally fail.......

Totally spaced out the vacuum angle. Will have to check that. Thnx for the tip.

Have same problem with mine after several years of working fine even though I don't use it much. Tested all circuits & button activation to servo, lots of vaccuum. Haven't taken servo apart yet. If you check my previous post, Quexpress posted a link to possible servo repairs. Seems like quite a few are starting to fail.

Have you checked  your brake light bulb? If filliment is out the CC will not work.

yeah, brake light bulb is working fine. Thnx for the other posts. Was able to d/l the manual which may help with the trouble-shooting. Haven't had the chance to check the vacuum yet. Too much rain.

Well, the pencil eraser tip didn't work, but it was a cool tip anyway and I just checked the vacuum and that appears to be working also. Don't really know how to check the inside of the actuator. Gotta gets this fixed before Sturgis or my right hand will fall off.

Did you try putting the purple wire straight to ground and see if it'll engage. Be careful doing this because the brake disconnects will not work if it does engage the on/off will still work and the clutch switch will too.If it does work then use the relay method to hook it up so the brake wire only opens the normally closed relay. Hope this helps.

High Mr.Bubbles! Just hooked the purple wire to ground, but no joy. Maybe the thing's just fried. Getting kind of discouraged.

Can anyone recommend another elec cruise control? I'm getting to old to just rely on my hand when cruising long distance.

Have you checked to wire from the coil yet. If you don't get a signal you won"t get an engagement.
