Saturday morning we'll hit The Natchez Trace with a couple planned stop's along the way ....( Vicksburg National Military Park ....Windsor Ruins )

Saturday night's motel will be .... Again you need to say " The Smokinjoe Ride " to get the discount. Rooms are $45.00 single $55.00 double.

I'll be talking to Beekeeper later this evening, or tomorrow. I'm almost positive he will want to make this ride.

I'm thinking that if the doctor tells me I still can't ride, I will cage it to Booneville Saturday and have supper ready for when ya'll get there. I'm thinking Louisiana red beans and rice, maybe a pot roast, with all the fixins and dessert. Or if someone would rather another dish, just let me know

I'm not sure the numbers we'll have on this ride Donna however if we don't have 10 rooms sold for the ride by Aug. 19 it will be canceled

Hey Guys!
Just made my reservations in Natchez and Boonville for the trip! When I gave the motel operator in Boonville the date she asked if I was with the Smokin'joe Ride. I think we are having a positive impact on the tourism market there. I'll make the ride from Natchez to up by Jackson TN and break off from the formation there and visit family and head back to Oklahoma from there.
I graduated from Mississippi State in 1973 and have only been back in that area once or twice since then. I'm really looking forward to the ride!

I am parked in my trailer about 45 miles away from Booneville MS. Would you like me to ride up there and look for any places to eat on Saturday or Sunday. I stayed at the Super 8 there a couple weeks ago and I beleive there is a Sonic right across the street from the motel.

I've stayed there several times as well Charlie ( working ) . It has a Sonic and Quickie Market next door also just down the street is a Huddle House and Hardee's...Lookin' forward to this ride ...Fingers crossed for dry roads

Here's a general route I worked out, around 7 hours of riding each day, plus stops, getting lost,
going through congested wal-mart zones I never would have picked had I known any better, stuff
like that...

I haven't calculated what the midway point is, other than it is probably somewhere South of Birmingham.
I've spent some long days just riding to Cheaha through North Georgia... this route is probably
quicker through there than some I've used...

I just looked - that motel is really nearer McCalla's dot-on-the-map... my route goes "right by there", more or less, the diversion
is short and doesn't look like it goes through any wal-mart congestion zones...

I'll call the hotel tomorrow and check, to make sure they have the ten rooms booked.....I think you'll get more then the ten from the looks of this post....its had a 1000 hits already.....I just got off the phone with Wolf10 and he said he may try to make this ride also, there are also alot of folks waiting till the middle of the month to commit because of there schedules....I'm looking forward to this ride.....Donna better make plenty of vittles sat. nite..

Ron also said when we go to scout out next years ride to W.Va. to let him know, he'll check it out with us...if you get off on Thursday, maybe you can meet up with us south of Birmingham at the Jamieson Inn...I'll stay in touch.
