Kudos where due

After the serious diagnostic session following the last DFW VRCC meeting, my extra sound from the rear was identified.  Knowing my personal mechanical limitations I took Pumpkin (my rare orange/black valk) to Xander's Cycles in Forney.  Brent serviced the u-joint, splines, changed the oil in the final drive, serviced the rear brakes and installed new pads. $40 bucks plus the cost of pads and oil.  Now I know I will get a dozen posts about how I could have done it cheaper but no way would that happen with this little trouble or effort on my part.  The guy is a former Honda stealership mechanic and knows the valk well.  Just happens to own his own shop now.  Nothing else in this for me and I have no interest in his shop.  Just thought he did good work at a very reasonable price. That's all. L

Sweet! Just e-mail'ed 'em to get a quote on replacing my front fork seals... I've got the parts to do it, I just REAAAAAAAAAAALY don't wanna do it myself...

       Oh well, guess we could sit around and talk about the people who aren't there . .   Oh . . we do that now!

I think most would still do stuff at the wrench parties, I like working on my bike. But for stuff that is a real pain or requires special tools, i would go to a decent shop

That sounds real reasonable to me, I would rather pay someone that has experience to do the job correctly. Instead of  spending the day in hundred degree weather doing the job in my garage.
