Any fiberglass gurus out there - BOB in Canonsburg maybe?

I'm looking for an informed opinion here.  I have custom leather saddlebags on my standard mounted with easy brackets.  The leather smith that made the bags did a great job, he sandwiches am aluminum sheet between the inner side layers of leather, in the bag covers, and has a aluminum band wrapped in leather that forms the opening of the bags.  I've been caught in the rain on many trips with these bags loaded to the gills, after getting thoroughly soaked they are starting to sag slightly.

I had a wild ass idea of re-blocking the bags to where they are back to the original shape, and then fiberglassing the insides of the bags to make a rigid leather bag.  I figured a couple layers of fiberglass mat should do the trick.  My questions are, Has anyone tried something similar?  do you think the glass will adhere to the leather?  The inside of the bags are rough unfinished cowhide.

yes it will,but buying fiberglass from your automotive store is way to costly, try this site
