GEOCACHING

MRS.T.P. and I had a BLAST in Texas last weekend with F6 and F6 Banger, found one just  down the road and 1 in town.

We do it with the kids. I usually wait until the first frost, so the bugs(ticks and chiggers)are not so bad. I live in the sticks and we usually do the ones with a nice hike involved.
Its kind of like a high tech treasure map to the kids.

oh yea! We started back when the geocaching site first started up. All the caches were free, no 'premium' memberships. We still have several caches active up in SE Alaska.

I found out about this when the new "Planet of the Apes" movie was being advertised in late 2000.  I had a Garmin GPS III, which I bought in 1997, and was eager to get in on this.  I planned many motorcycle trips around several geocaches in MO, IL, and AR.  There were only a few dozen back then, but they were fun.  I haven't done that in a while, but thanks for reminding me of those days!

I love GeoCaching, Started doing it with the kids, they have mostly lost interest, but it's a great reason to get on the bike and find places I wouldn't have found any other way.

Went out to REI today and picked up a Oregon 450  $100 bucks off this weekend.

just got back after looking, and finding, one this afternoon with the grandkids.
when we come for a visit they want to know when they can go geocaching.
