`Auxillary input

Has anyone utilized the aux input on the Interstate Clarion radio?? If so, can you clarify what connectors (I would assume under the right side cover) go to the Aux input.

I use it with my iPod all the time. It's just a standard Walkman jack. If you want to power the device as well, you'll have to put in a secondary fuse panel and some power points (cig lighters). I put mine under the seat behind the battery in the toolkit space. Powers the GPS as well, or charges my phone, or runs my compressor...

All of the radio type connections come out the front of the radio which is on top of the battery cover.  One of those is a standard small female connector that any audio device uses.  You will need to buy a double male adapter and plug one end in there and the other in you ipod or gps or whatever you are using.

 I used the aux jack, ran my double male ended jack or cord down behind the Rt hard bag and through a small hole just large enough for the end of the cord .Bought a rubber grommet made for the same diameter hole. I think it was 7/16. I also mounted a aux. power supply in the trunk in the form of a cig, lighter socket allowing me to charge my phone while traveling, or play my Ipod and charge it at the same time. Now I did also add another power source in the form of a cig. lighter socket on top of the lower triple tree. Wally world sells one with a spring loaded water tight cap .It powers my GPS and is pretty much hidden .

I found that using an mp3 player plugged into the aux input of the radio worked fine on my Interstate.

The problem was the mp3 player.

The mp3 player rated at 24 hours of playback was only good for 6 hours of playback through the radio seeing that I had to keep the mp3 player at full volume in order to get a satisfactory volume level at the Valkyrie speakers.

A good point was made that having a usb cable connected in a proper manner and available to charge the mp3 player would be a workable answer to the lack of battery capacity in the mp3 player.
