Oss

Took a ride over bear mountain, across the Seven lakes drive and 106 to the end of the Harriman Park and then south thru the pass to lake welch then south on the Palisades parkway to my parents home in Orangeburg.

Then took mom on a ride on the Valkyrie.

You cant actually say a woman's age so I will just say she is not that far behind dad who will be 81 in November.

She had her eyes open and was generally making happy wheeeeeeeeee sounds the whole time so I suppose I made her day.

She was so happy I got some homemade chicken soup when we returned.

I am blessed that I still have my parents and try to visit every Sunday morning but sometimes with all to do it doesnt happen.

But today it did, its now 78 and truly a beautiful day in the lower Hudson Valley of NYS.

Hope you all had a great weekend and enjoy the time with family if you have them treasure them

Good on ya Oss.   I'd give a bunch to spend an afternoon with either of em.
They took their honeymoon in Holland on a 650 Zundapp with a sidecar.
Still had the machinegun mount, even.
Aot of guys with burn marks, gnarly scars and funny twitches ask why I spend so much on safety gear

HOLY CRAP!!  Oss, your mom looks really good!!  (not like cougar hot, but healthy and happy good!!)

I tried to take my mother on a cycle ride when she was up here last summer.  She hates motor cycles, ever since her older brother popped the clutch on an old scooter when she was a kid and she fell off knocking the wind out of her.  We couldn't get her onto the cycle.  She's only 4' tall and very over weight.  But she was willing to give it a try!!  That would have been a wonderful picture!!

Have fun with your mom!!

Good on ya Oss, my mom rode on the bike w/dad the day before I was hatched.

She rode several miles with me.    I even took her on the CHP bike.  Not supposed to but it was just around the block.     Her final ride was on my 86 Honda SEi.     She rode in the tour package in her Brown urn.    She requested it and had to sign papers at the Funeral Home about 5 years prior to authorize it.

A point of view I'll pass along.

"Visit your parents at least once a week and then do your damn little projects.  We should come 1st, you were 1st in our lives..   So, pay back, put us up top priority."

That's all I have to say about that.

I agree with you I visit with my parents at least once a week mostly on the weekend and if I am tied up I make sure to make up the visit during the week.  I needed to fix my power plug on the bike today, I could of done it myself, but had my Dad help me with it. Nothing like working on a project (even this simple and small) for bonding & time together.  I know their time with us is getting shorter and I do not want the regret of not spending time with them.  Besides my Mom is Italian and the food at their house is great :D

Good stuff :cooldude:  I remember Harriman State Park. I had a pretty bad motorcycle accident when I was 17 years old in that park. Wrecked my KZ-1000. Stupid kid :uglystupid2:

Nicely put, Oss. Tell your folks "Howdy" from your Texas friends. :cooldude:

Good for you Oss (and her too!)

For all of us blessed with having our parents...god bless... each day is a gift...

I live far away and can't see mine as often as I'd like.  But, the telephone is my substitute....every call ends with "I love you" - because you never know if you'll get that chance again...
