Had the Two Brothers on for a week now. Still love the sound, but have the blues...

I remember that at one time there were heat shields to hide the blueing on either Cobra or Two Brothers (or both?) They were just chromed half pipes with springs across the backs to hold them on. Do these still exhist?

I tried a little blue job and QUICKLY determined that I would rather fork over the cash to hide the blueing, rather than polish the Two Brothers for the rest of my life.

As an alternate, should I consider tape or paint?

Blued pipes drive me nuts....

Thanks in advance.

By the way, the Dealer replaced the tire that was damaged by the fork oil for $35 (labor only.)

I'm not 100 % sure of this however I don't think the Two Brothers made the shields  :-\  I have a set on my Interstate that has Cobra's...I paid $400.00 for them used  :(  Yes I wanted them.
Cobra with heat shields.

These are ceramic coated I had these done well over 50,000 miles ago and they still look great...Cost back then was right at $150.00.
Ceramic Coated.

These are painted black with 1500 degree stove / bbq paint. I have to touch these up from time to time ...Cost about $12.00 for a qt. can that will last forever as it does'nt take much ( painted on with a small brush ) .

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

...Joe is correct...only Cobras had the optional heat shields. I have a set of Two Brothers also...although not on the bike anymore. Reason both make pipes "blue" is that they are only singled walled. The shields you speak of are highly coveted..but extremely scarce. I have seen them for sale from time to time on E Bay, or included on a set of Cobras someone is selling.

I sent my header's to jet hot and had them coated.  Did a nice job and  supposed to help performance and will keep pipes cooler. Which after shutting bike down and a little time you can put your hand on  the headers with out burning. Pricey but worth it.

I have the 2/Bros. 6into 6 on my 98 Tourer since 2001. I did get the heat shields as well ---I think I got the last set from HDL back then. They still look good!---

I've search the net for the shields, but no luck on finding any mention of them.

Does anybody have a part number?

Thanks in advance.

Good luck on a part #, they have been out of production for a few years now.

Last one I know to make them was Rivco.  Might give them a call, they might have a set laying around on the shelf, or tell ya where ya might find one.

I painted mine, and they turned out great. If you paint them, prepping before paint is the key to success.
