What's all the BS about a 1st annual Ride-In?

I recall the FIRST Texas rally in Kerrville was in 2004. As the saying goes ... Been there, done that, and have the T-Shirt !!

I am not sure where that "1st" rumor started.  It seems that my rather casual use of the term "ride-in" induced people to think of it differently.  However, it is the same great event that the Texas group has been putting on since before I even had a Valkyrie.

Since we're talking names for this, and since no one seems to know what to call it, I have a proposal to make:
How about we call it "TexZane"?  It is the Texas version of InZane, after all...

Questions?  Comments?  Snide remarks?

As for moving it around: We didn't hit the museum or Stonehenge this year.  Passed near them, though.
Where else would you prefer?  Make a suggestion...
We tried to hit a (very slightly) different part of the hill country this year, but hotels were booked up INSANELY early, and we were forced back to Kerrville.

I am not looking for a commitment here.  I am just looking for likelihood.  The more accurate this poll is, the more accurate our planning can be.  I am looking for a count of hotel rooms needed, so if you're going to go, but camp (for example), post that info so I can subtract your name from the hotel room count.  If you're bringing another person, who can't vote (SO without a VRCC forum account, for example), post that too, please.
If your plans change, feel free to change your vote and modify your post.  (Please modify your old post rather than adding a new post, as that will make it easier for me to keep tabs on the count)

I'm in!!! Camping or hotel? I've gone last two christmas vacations

I have been asked in the past about a Big Bend ride, and have always had the same response.  The statewide gathering is well attended because it is close enough for folks to have a good trip with just a three day weekend.  It's ~300 miles from both Houston and Dallas, 500 miles from Texarkana.  That's close enough to take meandering (i.e. "enjoyable") routes in on Friday and out on Sunday, and have time for dinner on Friday and a nice ride Saturday.  
Big Bend is closing on 600 miles from both Houston and Dallas, and 725 from Texarkana.  While some of our riders view that as a relaxing day's run, other riders and lots of passengers view that as a pretty good haul (While I've met lots of folks who have done the iron-butt (1000 mile/24 hour) ride, I have yet to meet ANYONE who has told me they've done it two-up.  There's a reason for that, I think.).  That turns it into a two day run (or 1.5) each way.  Then you want more time there to make it worthwhile.  Now we're talking taking off Thursday, Friday and Monday, if not more.
As such, I would support and help organize a Big Bend trip if there was interest.  However, I would not view it as a replacement for the statewide gathering.

(EDIT: While I was typing up that monologue, there was some interest shown.  I will regard that as a request, and start a discussion post about a separate Big Bend trip.)

Texas Valk riders have been going to the hill country for a long time.......
1998..... a ride up on the 3 Sisters and the Willow Loop... north of F'burg.....around 30 Valks... stopped at a bbq place.... and the more ya chewed it.. the bigger it got.   That was when we started having the bbq's here at the home place... and the start of the gatherin' O the Fools BBQ......next year will be the 13th annual!!!
