Phony air filters for phony stacks?

Does anyone have any ideas about a way to make the V-stacks look like they have air filters? I have a wire mesh at the bottom of mine, as do all others I've seen. But several years ago I rode with a group of Valks and one of those guys had something stuck in the top of the stacks that looked like real air filters.

Just looking to do something a bit different.

Measure the diameter of the stacks and take a trip to your local auto store and look for breather cap filters I think.....

SixGuns (Victor Rivera) in Fort Worth has some of those fake filters on his Tourer and they are sharp.  You might want to get in touch with him.

Auto Zone has the breather filters. Get the stainless or they will rust in a few years. Cut the rubber fitting out of them, add double sided tape, and apply. Had them on my Valk for 8 yrs or more. Some are still the original ones. They do get loose from time to time but I push them back on or add new tape. Be sure to tell them chics at the bikini bike washes to stay away from them. They'll knock them off with a rag. Had one come up, after told her to watch them, and said, 'uh this fell off'. No prob. Stuck it back on and I'll be cursed if it didnt fall off I-90.  :tickedoff: Only one I ever lost. It has been thru some winds and mansoon rains.

Oh, their $8-9 a pc.  :crazy2:

Thanks fudgie! That's just what I was looking for! I just got an email reply as well from Victor with full instructions on how to get it done! As always, everybody around here is most helpful.

And obviously I don't get out as much as most of the folks here because I've never seen a bikini bike wash. :-\ I guess I won't have the problem of some babe knocking off my filter! ;D
