I just wanted to take a moment and give a big THANK YOU to David and all the staff at Honda Direct Line. I've been buying parts and accessories from them for a very long time. I called today about two things: 1. a back-ordered item (supplier problem, not HDL), and 2. a receipt for a Progressive shock I ordered for my 1500 Wing that needs rebuilding and I lost the original receipt. After some searching in the system, David was able to find the original order, print it out, and fax a copy to me. Now to some, that might not sound too impressive. But when you consider my changing addresses and credit cards over the years, which is how they sort them, apparently I have about six different accounts :o. But the even bigger consideration is that the receipt is dated 6/10/2002. I call that damn good customer service.

You know, I agree with you!  You don't see that kind of care in very many companies.  Here's my nightmare story!  I bought my wife a $600 cannon camera from "Worst Buy" here in Eau Claire.  I also bought the 5 year extended warranty they always push.  Well, 4 years 11 months later when the camera's on/off switch stopped working.  I went back to worst buy because I used a marker and wrote the purchase date on the camera, so I knew that it was still under warranty, and told them that I no longer had the paperwork but knew that it was under the extended warranty plan.  They looked and looked and looked but could not find any proof that I bought the camera from them.  Now, even though it was registered with cannon as being purchased from worst buy, and I had an approximate date, they couldn't find the paper work.

Fast forward six months, my wife and I move to our new house, and what do I find?  You guessed it, my extended warranty papers.  Sure enough, my date was wrong; my camera was still under warranty but had just expired one month earlier!!!

I never buy the extended warranties anymore; they're just a waste of money.

We do not stock OEM parts. We will place your order with Honda and ship them to you ASAP. This takes 7 to 10 days for items that are in stock at Honda.

This from HDL. You guys are lucky to get you parts within a two to three week time frame. Do the math !
Try your local Dealer for price and del. time.

I'd rather be special than...no, I won't go there...I do know 2 days is not 7-10 days...

My "local" dealer isn't local, his prices have been GREATLY higher than any place I have ever seen, and don't seem willing to work with me. Not to mention that every thing has to be ordered, any way. I'm all for supporting local business, except when it appears they don't WANT my business. They DO seem to career more to the crotch rockets, and motocross crowds. It might have something to do with the fact I always do my own work, and they don't make their pound of flesh off labor charges from me...

I ordered my clutch parts from HDL night on Friday, 10/1.  I placed the order late in the evening so it may not have been processed until the next Monday.  I received everything on 10/13.  In that time span there were 2 weekends and a holiday, so I got my parts in 7 business days!

HDL's prices were 25% off of Honda's list, and they were running an extra 10% discount when I ordered.  There was a $7.50 shipping charge.  No dealer comes close to that.  And most dealers I know of  here in Colorado stock little more than filters these days.

BTW, a friend ordered OEM parts from a dealer recently, and the parts guy had the HDL site up on his PC!

I ordered some small parts, exhaust bolts and nuts, etc. from my local dealer. Of course he had to have me come in a pay for them first. When he handed my the receipt there was a shipping charge. I cancelled came home and ordered the parts from HDL. I told the guy at the dealer parts counter if I was paying for shipping I would rather have the parts delivered to my house.
