Anyone read the Chung Kuo series?

I'm re-reading the books I have and am on the 7th. I do not have the remaining books.

Does anything start to happen in the final 3 books or do the multiple meandering plot lines simply continue to wend their way.

No, but interestingly enough, one of my coworkers is named Chung-Yu Kuo.
