Hi,

Sorry in advance if this subject has been cover but couldn't find it!  I love my valkyrie interstate but I'm still young and like to speed up on my cbr600rr and I was wandering if the Valkyrie could tow a cbr600rr about 360lbs on a trailer in a bag about 145 lbs for a total of 505lbs?

Hi X I would also ask this question in the Motorcycle Trailering forum on Delphi.I have got a ton of info from there.

I have never been concerned about towing capacity ,more so about stopping with all that weight pushing me.

It'll pull more than I can cram in my trailer. IMHO it's easier on the Big Girl's back bearings than overloading her topside. :S

I tow a fully packed out Aspen Classic camping trailer and the Valk pulls the weight with no problems.  If your trailer doesn't have brakes (mine doesn't) then I'd recommend going darkside for more grip.  If I were to do it all over again I get the trailer brakes.
THE HIGHER THE FEWER

fudgie

I've seen them pull them campers and they are 550 or so. Bye bye to your mpg.

I tow a Roll-a-Home tent trailer. It weighs about 425 loaded with all my gear. I spent 8,000 miles pulling it all over the country one summer. Got 25 MPG if I kept it under 65. The HitchDoc hitch has some flex with that weight and it didn't always feel right in cross winds and sweeping corners. I now tow it with an 1800 wing. Get 40 MPG at 70+ mph with no flex in the hitch. I don't recommend towing 500+ lbs behind a Valk. Braking in the rain was very scary.

There a picture around here somewhere... a Valkyrie towing a Shadow on a trailer.

I think the Valk can handle a wee sport bike.   :cooldude:
