Hi All,

I have just installed a Clear Alternatives integrated light board into my taillight. Got it all hooked up and the bloody thing does not work. No running, brake,  indicators, nothing. Stock globe works fine so it is not a wiring issue. Has anyone else had isues with these? I am in Australia and the hassle of shipping it back to the states does not appeal to me. I just found it strange as I would expect at least one function to work , but i have nada. I am suspecting it may be a problem with the bayonet fitting but it is filled with hot glue and I cannot really look at it without voiding the warranty.

Anyone else had hassles with this product? I would have thought they would bench test the units before shipping.

The Clear Alteratives tailight LED array will not work with the OEM turnsignals; you must use LED front signals, and remove the rear, as they are integral to the tailight array.

To make it work you must use the supplied relay. And the turn signals wil not function until you add two diodes to the turn signal leads to the indicator lamp within the headlight; and the other lead from the indicator must be grounded.

Did you check all the connections? The terminal that has the white and black leads that plug into the digital relay is quite cheesy.

NOTE: front smal LED (bright) on lower triple clamp

NOTE: lack of rear OEM turnsignals and plate lamp

Hi Momz,

I have removed the stock indicator bar completely and rerouted the turn signal positive wires into the tailight. I am replacing the front turn signals with Kuryakyn LED mirrors so that will not be an issue. There is only positive wires from the led board so I am assuming it gets its ground through the taillight fitting?

I did get what is labelled as a resistor in the box with installation instructions for a Gixxer 600 ...... I thought this is just to stop the indicators blinking too quickly?

Even all that aside why would the running and brake lights not function?? The wiring for this is not altered at all and uses the existing globe socket?

Any help appreciated.

Are you sure you are making 'ground' contact?  If nothing is working, I'd suspect no ground...

Just asking,....but did you check the fuses?
Also installing the array plug into the socket can be a real pain in the a$$.

The stock globe works fine in the same socket so fuses and ground are fine. I think I have just gotten a faulty unit. I might just get the hot glue out of the bayonet fitting and check it out properly.

Thanks for your replies.
