advance trigger wheel

I read about the 4 and 6* advance trigger wheel here.  Was wondering witch one would you guys recomend and where are you buying them?

The Standard/Tourer Valks have different ICM's than the Interstates. The 6 deg is for the Standard/Tourer and the 4 deg is for the I/S. Never bought one, can't help you on that question.

I did the ECT mod.  Gave me about 4mpg more.

I think it's better than the trigger wheel because:
1. It is (optionally) adjustable up to 10°.
2. It makes the bike easier to start when cold because it doesn't add to the ICM's advance.
3. It's shut off when the transmission is in neutral preventing high idle rpm.
4. It fades out above 3k rpm letting the ICM do the job.

Buda: I did the ECT mod on my STD and really like being able to turn it off or down depending on what fuel I can buy (IE) (87 to 93)  The resisters, diodes and knobs came in multiples so I have extras if you want hem. all you need is the 10k taper. Even if you bought everything you need it is only about $15.00. and if you don't like it you can just shut it off or remove it easily. You can feel the difference,

+1 on the ECT mod. I also agree that you need the potentiometer for the ability to turn it off. It also gives you the variability to control how much advance you want to run. Without the Pot. you'll get 10 degrees of advance which is a bit too much IMHO.

I put on a 6 and picked up 4-6 mpg. Very good low end torque. They say you will loose a little top end speed but I've never had the nerve to try it. It will past just about anything on the road anyway.
