Are those the same Japanese that everyone seems complelled to support?

I had two uncles at Pearl Harbor.  Luckily, they survived.

I was at Pearl Harbor for the 50th anniversary.  Wow... 19 years ago.  I was an E-5.  I was on limited duty with a broken back, and serving at Naval Station Pearl Harbor working support for all the events.  I spent hours and hours talking with the amazing men that were there for the event.  I took many of them on tours of Ford Island and the ferry's that got us there.  (There is a bridge now)

They told me that the ferry's that were being used then (1991) were the same ferry's that were there the day the bombing happened.  And as a side note... they are the same ferry's that appear in the film "Pearl Harbor" with Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnet. 

That day will always "Live in infamy".

I worked with a guy who was a Master Seargent looking to retire after 24 Army years.
He was due to get out Febuary 1942,Then he got locked in for the duration. He was a gunnery instructor at Pearl for the duration.

My father was there with the Army engineers, working on the runways at Hickam field. He spoke very little of that day, But THANKS DAD, rest in peace, he would be 92.

Did anyone even hear this mentioned on the news?  The significance of the date I mean.  I didn't have time to specifically tune in and watch the entire news show, but I didn't hear a mention all day with spotty listening to the radio.  What makes the news these days really disgusts me.  I hope our heros were remembered.

We had our ham radio club Christmas party last night at a local resteraunt.  We brought a flag on a pole in with us.  Before the party, we said the Pledge of Aliegiance and a prayer for all Veterans past and present.
