been reading about the u joints, ordered o rings, purchased moly grease, but where do you find moly paste?  and what brand or what do they call it? No one here has ever heard of it.  Thanks

The guard dog is great stuff but locally you can find Bel ray waterproof grease. Auto stores and MC shops have it. Not many still use Honda's Paste.

firefighter.....i have been using this for years, and years:  BEL-RAY ASSEMBLY LUBE (WITH MOLYLUBE SOLIDS).  it comes in a 10 oz. plastic can with a cap/brush--cost:  approximately= $12.38.  good stuff, and it's a lot cheaper tha honda molly-60 paste.

I got Valvoline moly grease, blue can, at Auto Zone. Used it for 50k with no probs, but then again I cake it on.

Thanks guys   I will order one of the suggested paste, I want to do the maintenance correctly and after reading and reading I was confused about the paste. Where I live in south Texas Mexico border, motorcycle dealers and shops are scarce and then limited.

I also use assembly lube, no problems in 78K.  Firefighter, you active or retired?  I retired in 2003 from Topeka Ks FD.  Hoser

Hoser, Still active, just over 21 years, Captain in all paid small department, approx. 105 or so firefighters. Best job ever for me, could retire anytime, but what for!  Thanks for your reply.

I had 34 yrs, mandatory retirement at 60, so I had to go.  I was Shift Commander, so I didn't have much physical work anyway, but it's a state law in Kansas for paid departments.  I agree about best job ever!     Hoser

Last name don't ring a bell, Fudgie, but I've been gone since 03, plus if he was on one of the other 2 shifts,  I might not have met him.  72 FF on each shift, 12 eng. companys and 5 trucks and aerials.  hoser

I was thinking about this as we were doing a transfer. He works for Witchata (sp). For some reason I could only think of 3 cities in KS and w wasn't one of them.

Ok. Hes been on over 20 yrs I believe. Met him 2 years ago at camp in Sturgis. We'd talk fire stuff all night. Super nice guy. Ended up seeing him again this year. Had a good time again. He told stories about his firehouse and we laughed so hard we cried. Hooking up again next year out there.

Kinda neat how we meet once and a year later we remember names and leave off where we stopped last year. Were staying in touch now.
