My nuts are rusty!

And many of the bolts as well. Not sure what's with that, but it seems if I as much as tighten a bolt, the hex hole will show rust within days. Anyone have a simple way of removing the rust? I tried rubbing with CLR, no dice.
The worst of it is the accelerator cable and nuts where it meets the grip. That one, and maybe the clutch cable, I just may have to replace.

once you get the rust removed put clear finger nail polish on the hexes,bolts and nuts..and redo it everytime you touch them with a wrench..and they won't rust again.

If your allen bolts and screws start to rust,...clean them with vinegar and a Q-tip. Then take Anti-Seize and apply with a clean Q-tip and wipe off any excess with a paper towel.

I second the motion....an old but effective method. Works well on the metal ones. As for the flesh-toned version....you're on your own.
