Traxxion AK-20 Cartridge Front suspension kit

    Has anyone put this setup on a Valk? A lot of Goldwing riders have and like it. Before I shell out $1300.00 to have it done, I need more feedback from Valk owners who have had this kit installed.

I had it installed in my Goldwing 30K miles ago.  I would spend the money again in a heartbeat.  I never planned on keeping the Valk very long, and it is in fact for sale now, so it got Progressive springs.  But if I was going to keep it longer, I would definitely spend the money on the Valk.  Worth every dime on the Goldwing, and hard to believe it wouldn't be on the Valk if I was keeping it.

what do u have now? search the site for race tech, progressive and works installs for comparisons.

IMO unless u are running on the edge or plan to in the twisties or the race track, I doubt u will need cartridge forks. I could be wrong though. I run progressives and amsoil 10w fork oil.
I would ask smokin' joe for his opinions, as he is one of the more aggressive riders on the board.

I do not have these,,, but I have just dropped my forks off to have them custom setup for my size and riding style and it will be Racetech and goldvalves around $600

I have the Traxxion cartridges in my Goldwing forks.  I love them and they make a huge difference in the way the Goldwing rides and handles.  However,  I always thought the valkyrie front end, in its stock configuration was much better than the Goldwing.  I had progressive springs in my valkyrie and always thought that the valk forks were pretty darn good.  The Goldwing on the other hand is so weakly sprung that mother honda invented the ADV (anti dive valve) to prevent the bike from diving when the brakes were applied.  This may have cured that problem but caused numerous others.  The valk, of course, doesn't have an ADV.  The goldwing ADV is taken out of service when Traxxion cartridges are installed. 

I am certain that the AK-20 fork cartridges would be an improvement to the stock suspension but how much better may make the expense questionable.  It all depends on YOUR prospective.  For sure, the valk front end with reasonably priced progressive springs is a pretty good ride in comparison to the goldwing that is pretty darn poor in its stock configuration.  The Traxxion cartridges are an excellent product!!  And, there is no question that Max McCallester knows how to set up a bike with the best available suspension.   The difference between the valk and wing is the starting point.

    Thanks for all the feedback. I didn't know that the Goldwing front suspension was that bad compaired to the Valk. I don't ride the bike all that hard, but I don't like how it dives in corners when I am on the brakes. I have a set of progressive springs that I will try before I go any futher with this.

I predict you'll be real happy with just the progressive springs, they address exactly what you have described...
