Bike lifts?????

OK... I'm in the market for a bike lift.......air or air over hyd would be great.  Needs to have a drop out for the rear wheel.... and a vice for the front.  (I will need to make it be able to pick up a Spyder as well...(I can weld up extentions for the front tires on the Spyder)....Any one have ideas for a good drive on lift?????

I agree with NiteRider.  I also have a direct lift product.  XLT DT and its a damn fine lift table. Ive also got the scissor jack.  It works great and lifts both my Valk and my 03 Wing like they arent even on it.  The removable rear section makes rear tire changes a snap.

I'll agree!  Hotglue, if you'd like, bring FB and the Spyder over and check out my Directlift for fit, etc.  We're not that far away, you know.........

I've got a Handy Lift. It's the one that you see in all the dealers. I've had it about 10 years never a problem. You can buy extensions for the sides to accomodate a trike...

I know there are alot of good lift's out there at a good price...I bought mine like 8-9 yrs ago and never had any problems with it...(I have 3 valk's and alot of friends with Valk's) Direct lift Pro is what I have... mine  does not have the drop  ( bought it before it was offered)....I would buy another...air cylinder is great ...I have lifted my Interstate with a little 3 gallon 110psi  compressor from Sears...it took a little longer but worked....my 30 gallon has no problems.

Hotglue, you will be completely spoiled now.  I muddled along with a little jack stand for a bit but once I got my lift table it made me wonder how I ever got along without it.

It is an auxiliary jack, it is useful to support the bike say during fork removal, rear tire removal when the lift won't support the entire weight of the bike for dismantling. It costs about $100 bucks but is very handy..... Very heavy duty jack.

there is a link to the little scissor lift accessory.  Its got frame adapters for use on various types of bikes too.  Very sturdy little lift and stable.

Oh yea and I dont know if any of you have tried it, but you can take off the side extensions and install them upside down and make a tool tray out of em.

LOL... there is more truth to that than I care to admit!!!!  I have already figured out how to make extentions for the front wheels on the Spyder... they are a little wider than most trikes.  Will bolt a run of 4 " angle iron on each side on the front 2 ft of the lift width extentions.... just lay down some boards to get the Spyder onto the lift without dragging bottom.  Hate to have the extentions the whole length... puts me too far from the bike.
 Sure will be nice to be able to work on the bikes without laying on the ground!!!!!!!

Hey Hotglue ...if you get some longer pipes you can extend the sides to accommodate the wider Spyder...and if you take the vise clamp off the lift and install a removable Condor wheel chock the Spyder will fit on the Direct lift easy....

Good idea RTaz!!!!! I will have a better plan when I get it set up!
Ordered it yesterday... and tracking shows it being delivered TODAY!!!!!!!!!  Talk about fast service!!!!!!!!!  Worked last night and got the rollup garage doors in place and was able to lock up the new shop last night!!!!!!  The rollup doors are cool!!!! Even got a remote elec opener for the front door!!!!!!

Got the rollup doors up yesterday!!!! they are COOL!!!  The shop is now dried in!!!  have EVERYTHING out of the shop to seal the floors......  The lift is in town... but will not be delivered til Monday....they had to transfer to a liftgate truck.   I don't have a folklift.... may have ta work on that.....  probably could have unloaded it with the ginpole on the tractor... but depends on the height of the trailer......

Now I need ta start running power to the shop....Can't have too much POWER!!!!!

We used the hand forklift from the delivery truck and my heavy duty two wheel dolly to move my lift inside. It wasn't really that heavy, just a very cumbersome package. At my old house it was about 100' from the road to the door of my garage. When we moved I just had the movers man-handle it after I'd disassembled it. If that fails, just have him put it on the ground and take it out of the box. I know you can handle the center "lift" portion with a small tractor for sure.

One thing that I'd caution you about is to look the bottom edges of your lift over for tags hanging off, as I ripped the top of my foot open when I was out there fooling around with it in my sandals. It had a jagged edge under the front right corner of the lift that was as sharp as a knife. It only took a second to grind it off, but I had no idea it was there until I "found" it. Where did you put a shop? What size did you build?

I am thinking about getting this lift also.  I am just not sure it is heavy enough for my wifes trike with the 1,000 lb capacity.  Anyone know what the weight of a 2001 Valkyrie standard with a 2006 Motor Trike kit weighs?

I wired my sears opener up to a push button from Radio Shack and mounted it up under the fairing so as I turn in the drive the door is up and the chock is ready to recieve the fat lady and me. Door goes down and nobody even knows I'm home.
