Wanting to "do" my carbs...

I am approaching the idea of rebuilding my carbs.  Fixin' too... for me that means thinking about getting ready too...

I like to collect as many parts as I am able in advance... that means questions of folks that are way smarter than I am.  I thought I start on the Texas board first... as you guys are close at hand and have thus far been very gracious to the noob.

First: it appears from the Honda parts fiche that there isn't really a kit.  Does anyone else make a kit?  Maybe k&L?  If I am best going OEM What parts should I get?  Needles, jets and...

Two: I figured to rebuild the petcock, replace all the vacuum hoses, replace the fuel filter and add a quick fuel disconnect while I am in there.  (what the heck... it's just money right?) I already have a new air filter.

Three: do I need anything other than that?  Should I invest in the de-smog kit too?  I'm not real sure what that is... or what the advantages are to installing one.

Thoughts?  Suggestions?  Nuggets of wisdom?

not a falling star or a feathered wing,
but when the light's just right I swear I see...
