Nearly perfect.  I just need to decide whether to have them painted or not.  I kind of like them black.

The problem with Socialists is they eventually run out of other people's money to spend!

You did'nt ask for my opinion but I'll give it anyway....That's a sharp bike you have ....Two-tone them to match the bike....Most all auto parts stores that sell paint has a computer that will scan and match....I've done it three times once on the saddlebags ( they was black ) once on the trunk ( it was red /black ) and again on the trunk when a fellow Valk rider hit me and missed the paint up....You should be able to get thoses two-tone painted for around $150.00 / $200.00 money well spent IMO to match that good lookin' bike  :cooldude:

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

Reb

Hey chillerman beautiful bike, I'm in the same situation. I got a black OEM set off of ebay a few months ago, looking to get them painted also. I got the same blue & cream standard.

You could always paint the rest of the bike black.   :)

I got them off of FleaBay for what I thought was reasonable.   :cooldude:  Joe, if I could get them painted for $200 I would do that in a heartbeat.  Just have to find a good painter.

I paid $500 to get mine painted (blue/cream). Paint was included. Turned out beautiful.

That is what I'm afraid of.  I would like to match the orange pinstripe as well.

Dude that painted mine has a small body shop mostly painting street rods and classics . You can save a bunch $$$$ by getting the paint scan matched ....Honda will burn you a new one for OEM paint....You need a half pint of each any painter will already have clear coat.

Thanks for the compliments and the opinions, that is why I posted this I suppose.  Anyone know how easy it would be for a painter to match the pinstripe?  I know the OEM's are decals with a clear coat over them.

Chillerman, I have to agree with Smokinjoe, you have a beautiful bike....getem' painted...cut back $ some where, cut some yards when summer gets here or something; shop around some body shops, you'll find a reasonable price

My painter was able to match the red pinstripe that separates the factory black and silver. I know the pics don't show the stripe that well but it is a very good match

Lucky man, I've been wanting hard bags for my Blue and Ivory Valk (which everyone knows is the fastest of all Valks) for some time now. Your black hardbags look good, but spend the extra bucks and get them two toned. Just my humble opinion.

Great paint job!  :cooldude:  Not the same-old-same-old. Really sweeps the bike.

WoW :o, painters must work cheap down south.  Cost me $600 to have a Hoppe fairing and all the pieces of a pair of I/S pods painted...one color.   It is pearl,  maybe that's what made it so pricey.

I'd definitely paint them.... but you could save a few bucks and choose one of your two OE colors and paint them solid, without the Honda pinstripes.  I'd go blue.

That's what I did. Run me about $250. I took the bags and a side cover to the bodyshop. They scanned the side cover, and got  perfect match. I like the look of the two tone, but I the solid looks great, as well.

Not always, I paid $350.00 for labor and I ordered my silver from Colorite which was about another $100.00. All this was about 6 years ago.

Very Nice Bike :cooldude:
Please paint to match.

I really like the scheme on F6johns

Chillerman

Godfire and Reb, we all know that the blue and cream are the fastest!!  :2funny:  Painting them solid is something to consider but if I'm going to the trouble to have them painted I may as well get it done right in two tone.  You guys have convinced me, now I just have to decide on the Tourer scheme or the Interstate,  or maybe a design of my own!  :cooldude:

Any painter worth his salt, will be able to match the pinstripe by eye, no scanner needed.

Thanks, I had thought about adding a scallop on the side covers to match after I changed them from black to silver. Then I thought, maybe too much..??

I like it! Perhaps with the scallop on the side covers, but pointed in the opposite direction? Towards the front? I'm not good enough at Photoshop to mock it up, but can see it in my mind...

I haven't decided on how to do mine, although I'm leaning towards the set on the Tsukayu page, which I think has too much white, but with black and red, might be just perfect (although I DO like yours better!!) :

CHILLERMAN - Personally, I'd prefer to see them painted - black, to me, always says "add-on", but then, I'm an old goldwing guy, too. And my paint guy, told me he could do mine for right around $200-250, especially since it wasn't metallic or metal-flake. And he said he could do the pinstriping right into the paint, just like stock. I'm just in no hurry to get them done, though. I figure I'll only do it once, that way...

EDIT - oh yeah, Chillerman - those are my favorite Valk stock colors!

i have never seen this many blue/cream ones... wow. paint the bags. I have an IS tank and the bags done for $425including the paint.

Dogg

oh, and matched the orange stripe perfect by hand. no problem

I vote for you painting your bag, but why go with something reasonably stock looking? Why not just run it by an airbrush shop and get it covered in your favorite scenery?

Got mine done at a local trike shop. They mix all the paint for their bikes and trikes. They also painted the orange  stripe and inside of lids, which were black, all for $200. Said it would have been more but the bags were in good condition and needed very little prep.

Well done; just the right blend of color.  :cooldude:

They are already at a paint shop.  Thanks for all your suggestions  :cooldude:  I decided to go with the stock tourer look.  I don't know that I have seen a blue/cream with oem bags painted with the stock scheme.  I am not that creative to think up something on my own!!   ;D  I should have them back in a week or so and I will post pictures then.  AND YES, I know that I still can't call it a Tourer!!   :2funny: :2funny:

Thanks again, Sean
