Anybody been to a "Ride like a pro" school in Houston? If so was it worth it? I am considering signing up for a class in March or April. Just wondering if they would do a class the morning of the 2nd of April. Maybe we could a Valkyrie group together. TJ

YES IT IS WELL WORTH IT. Let me tell you up front it is not an easy corse, but when you are done you will know what you can do on a motorcycle and what your limits are !

Yes normally it's like from 8am till 12 am. I know it would be early! April 16 is the normal schedule and it looks like they do 1 per month. If more people are interested maybe they would do one for us.  I have not talked to them

Yes that's the one. I think they only have one location in Houston area.

Like Wizard said, class will get you well versed in how to manipulate the bike.  Note however, it is all about driving the bike a dead slow speeds, extremely tight U turns, etc.  Only running above 8 mph is when you are trying to cool down the engine or give the clutch a break.  The guys are great, at least one is a M/C cop.  (Who happened to mention that they used to drive Valks as cop bikes but they did not hold up)

Class is well worth it if you want to polish your low speed manuvering skills.  I got the bike to do things I never had the confidence to do before.  :cooldude:

I am just preparing to defend my title from the bike games at InzaneX.   :2funny: I had some stiff competion from HayHauler and a young man ( can't remember his name) from NM. Let the games begin, bring it on Hay.  ( 8) my game face )

BBQ is not until Saturday early afternoon.  After this class, we might need the BBQ to recover...
Bring it "little man"...  be sure to bring your title belt so I can try it on...
Might have to take my bags off this year, to level the playing field...  :)

I know I can/need/have to improve ..... just don't tell Peggy (my wife)  ;D

Oo... and Hay you better take those bags off. :2funny: They may get damaged, I would leave the rails on if I where you. It is suggested that you cover them with some sort off rubber hose for protection against scratches.   :2funny:

It's on the Ride like a Pro website page.  Probably just for less experienced riders.  Not meant for you or TJ.  :coolsmiley:

QuoteHi, TJ -

That sounds great.  All of us talked and we are O.K. for teaching a class that Saturday.

Our normal class size is 8 with a maximum of 10.  We can squeeze in 1 or 2 more, but the riders have longer wait times when they are going through the exercises.

If you really want to do this, I'll put it on the Ride Like A Pro Houston on-line store for that date and the riders can put a deposit (read the section on the cancellation policy on the website - https://ridelikeaprohouston.com/FAQs___Practice_Guide.html) down for that date.

Let me know when you get the chance.

Thanks for the business!

Mark the way I see it Jimmy is working on losing that lower center of gravity advantage. Good for me! Last I heard he is exercising and working out. Requires more lead in his bags, that should do it! :2funny: ....... O wait he planning on taking them off. JIMMY I AM BRINGING MY BELT!  8)

I'm game, but I think I'll do it on my 750 Vulcan instead of one of the big bikes.  I still need work on the tight turns, part is the fear of bringing the bike over on me.  The Vulcan is much lighter.
