joker, ya ever heard of a U-haul or similiar type storage?

We don't have enough garage space for all the vehicles we have, so 4 of them are stuffed into 1 storage unit.    That way, they are at least high and dry.  3 bikes and 1 Mustang.

If Joker's post-divorce financial situation is similar to mine, then a storage unit is beyond his means right now  tickedoff

Darn, I hate to hear that. I stored a Honda CB350 outside one time.  It was covered but the moisture and cycling of temperatures was very hard on it.

Gotta agree.  Any kind of supported cover is better.  Even if it is a tarp on pipes.  Like a little pavillion.  Allows ventilation and keeps the cover from rubbing on the bike.

It’s definitely not good, but it sounds like it was best he could do at the time.  Divorce does strange things to your mind and body.  A bud of mine lost 40 lbs when his wife decided it was time for her to hook up with someone else.  Thing is, he looked so good, other women started coming around.

Had to store a gOldWing on the back porch for a couple of months while my sister-in-law took over the garage with her stuff from a move.  It was covered, but the brakes were trashed - sitting outside, the brake fluid really absorbed a lot of water.  So that's something to look at immediately upon uncovering it.  Plus problems if no stabil or sea foam in the tank while it sits.

Hope all works out well in your future.

A few months back on that show PawnStars they mentioned that some people will pawn their boats or motorcycles when winter hits, then unpawn them a few months later. The pawn shop has to keep everything in dry storage for safekeeping. It costs less to pay the pawn fee than to pay for storage.

I agree. when my parking situation changed last year I picked up a Cycle Shell for this winter. Not cheap but keeps the snow/dirt/cats/dog whiz/ and the occasional chicken off the bike. Kind of like a big pup-tent.
MUCH cheaper by far than a girl friend or a wife.  cooldude

If I ever get my own house,  the cage stays out and Wall-E stays inside.  This is the first time I've ever had a scooter without a hard cover(shed, garage) over it.  NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!

Here is an update, 5 years later. Girlfriend is gone, my Valkyrie is now stored in a brand new garage even though it needs a lot of work now. And where is the brand new garage? In my old backyard. Me and the ex have remarried and things have never been better. Thanks for all your replies.

It's good to hear when a story turns good even after several years.  Congratulations on the reunited commitment.

+1 awhile back there was a ressurected  thread with a post from DonaldCC in it. It's kind of nice and kind of sad at the same time.  Undecided
