Tire pressures...Dunlop E3's

I've read varying opinions on tire pressures. Going "dark-side" is not an option for me. I am having new Dunlop E3 radials installed on the girl.  I am more of a "cruise and look" guy vs. "lean and twisty" type.  I weigh 265 and ride almost exclusively solo.  I am wanting the optimum mileage out of these shoes.  Can anyone weigh in on this subject?

I got about 8000 miles off  my last E3, but probably would have gotten more had I increased the pressure up to 42-45psi range. And when I finally replaced it, it really was done for. IMHO the suggested pressure rates by Honda are more intended for a cushy ride, not for firm grip and longevity of the tire.

When I'm running MC tires I run them in the 45 to 50# area.

When I'm running my CT I run 36# in it.

With 45 to 50#, the MC tire doesn't start cupping until around 9,000, once it starts, there is no stopping it, that was my main decision to go to a CT.

I've ridden CT's on MGM for over 100K.  Only time I go back is if I'm on the road and can't find anyone to put a car tire on.   Like on my trip to Alaska.  On the return trip I run a big old bad piece of razor sharp rock into the center of the tread.   It was out of air in 50', but the car tire sidewall kept MGM up and made it easier to control.  Bead never came off the rim in the 300' it took to get him whoa-ed down.

NO, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to sell you on CT's.

The last set of E3's produce 14k miles on my Interstate, I changed them because I thought 14K was enough. I try to keep them at around 41-42 Lbs. Of course, when the weather is very hot they tend to increase a bit in pressure. New E3's on the Tourer, Avon Cobras on the Interstate. Same pressure.

I bought the 99 IS last spring with slightly used E3s on it. I put about 13k miles on her; mostly around town and straitish hi-way, including a 6k round trip to Ontario, so say 15-16k on them now. I'll be changing rubber this spring, but I'm sure I could get another 2-3k miles on them. I'm 275 now, 290 then, and keep her at 40lbs front/42-43 rear.
Going double darkside, but not because of any fast tire wear on the E3s.

I replaced the oem tires with E3's 52k miles ago.   During that time, the bike consumed 2 fronts and 4 rears.  I run 43 front and 47 rear and don't try to wring every last mile out of the tires.

44 - 45 rear; 42 - 43 front.

If I get less than 20K on a rear tire I'm looking for another brand.

I've run both Avon and Dunlop on the rear.  I prefer Avon, but I use the same pressure in either.
