Like others here, I also wanted a lower ride. I am 5'10" with a 30" inseam.
After much fussing about I ended up doing the 6 degree rake.
11.5" progressive shocks and a Corbin seat.
As well, the slightly smaller rear car tire.
I love having both feet flat on the ground when I'm at an intersection.
The only negative is my floorboards are a little worse for wear. Definitely can't corner as aggressively as I used to.
I'm not aware of any 'kits'. For sure I would not slip the tubes, that will compromise the integrity of the front end under any severe load. I'm sure it would work perfectly 99% of the time, but I'd never want to experience that failure.
