Lowering Kit?

Anyone know anything about a Lowering Kit for a 99 Valk.
I'm interested in Lowering my bike.
Any thoughts on this out there?

You can go to a shorter rear shock, shorter rear tire, and you can slip the front tubes in the triple tree about 3/4  of an inch. That's about all I know you can do. Remember the lower you go the easier it is to drag your pegs and bottom out the shocks and rub the top of the tire up in the rear fender.

You can also trim some foam out of the seat and narrow the front of the seat pan.

I lowered my rear with 11.5 inch Progressives and a lower profile car tire.  Initially I slipped the forks 5/8's of an inch.  I eventually went with a 6 degree rake kit which gave me the look I wanted.  I think Im about as low as you would want to go.

Like Steelers, I went 11.5 Progressives and 6 degree front rake. Passenger and I total out at 300 and it is still a good ride with a rare bottoming out on a big bump.

Like others here, I also wanted a lower ride. I am 5'10" with a 30" inseam.
After much fussing about I ended up doing the 6 degree rake.
11.5" progressive shocks and a Corbin seat.
As well, the slightly smaller rear car tire.
I love having both feet flat on the ground when I'm at an intersection.
The only negative is my floorboards are a little worse for wear. Definitely can't corner as aggressively as I used to.

I'm not aware of any 'kits'.  For sure I would not slip the tubes, that will compromise the integrity of the front end under any severe load. I'm sure it would work perfectly 99% of the time, but I'd never want to experience that failure.

If you go to the shop talk section and look up Lowering Valkyrie Forks you will find a safe method to lower the forks on the Valkyrie.  I submitted this article in 2001 and have over 75,000 miles on the initial installation with no problems.  You can send me an email if you have any problems performing or understanding the directions and I will assist in any way I can.      Larry

TNT, over on the BBB has been running her valk for a very long time with the forks slipped down.  You might go that board and give her a shout.
